The Big One Book Birthday Special Edition
Book birthdays are always odd. While I always expect trumpets to sound and confetti to shower from the sky, publication day isn’t notably different from any other day, except for that now I can officially start worrying that no one is buying my book.
That said, today is the official release date for my new picture book, The Big One, and if no one else is going to sound the trumpets and toss the confetti, I’m happy to do it myself.
The Big One, I realized yesterday, is my fourth ocean-themed picture book. (The others are Deep Blue, The Antlered Ship, and The Sea Serpent and Me.)
Apparently, I like the ocean. (This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows me.)
I’ll be evoking some nautical joy at two Bay Area events celebrating The Big One this summer and I hope you’ll join me.
