And I'll be using this brilliant statement on my ACCOUNTABLE shelf talker! "[Teens are] the ones who are living these stories and, most importantly, they’re the ones who are about to receive the keys to our whole democracy. I want them to have all the information they need to be good at driving it."
As I like to write stories about science and nature, I find the sentence below extremely valuable.
"Every word must be as valuable to the reader as it is to the writer, which means no larding the text with research you can’t bear to leave out or points you can’t resist making one more time." Thank you for putting this info in printed form. As I revise my manuscript this advice will give me pause and remind me for whom I am writing. It is good to remember that writing is both for the writer and the reader. Thank you Dashka.
